With Edgar Wright’s ANT-MAN starting to pick up the pace, there’s still a rather Hank Pym-shaped hole. Fear not, though, for it seems as if Marvel Studios are finally pushing things along in terms of casting one of Marvel’s most loved characters. Variety has the scoop, claiming that there are two actors leading the way to play Pym: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd. It’s also claimed that there may be a third name in the frame – let those Simon Pegg rumours start again – but that’s not for certain.

Whilst JGL is the better actor, as a long-time Rudd fan – HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS FTW! – I’d love to see the Ruddster (pretty sure I’ve just made that name up) given the nod. Best-known for his humourous turns, I seriously think that Rudd could do a fantastic job with the troubled genius of Henry Pym.

Either way, before ANT-MAN kicks of Marvel’s Phase Three on 31st July, 2015, we’ve still got THOR: THE DARK WORLD, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON to get through.

Expect more on ANT-MAN as we get it.
