Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige recently spoke to EW to give an update on where the studio’s ANT-MAN film is currently at. Directed by Edgar Wright, the film has been in development for a fair few years, with some test footage making its way online last year. With the original ANT-MAN script being written several years ago, Feige revealed that they are currently making some changes to the proposed film in order for it to fit the mould of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has now been established.

He said, “Frankly, now we have to rewrite the script to put it a little bit more into the Marvel Cinematic Universe because it was written before it existed. We’ve talked about various names to play the lead over the past eight years, but as you can imagine they keep changing as time goes by.”

Feige added, “Towards the end of the year, we’ll buckle down and start casting and start refining the script, which is great and which is very Edgar. He has done a great job being incredibly true to the comics but is putting his own spin on it, so we’ll be drawing on multiple mythologies for this one.”

Currently set to be part of Marvel’s ‘Phase Three’ of films, there’s been various names up for the lead in Wright’s film. Over the years, these names have varied from the likes of Adrien Brody and Josh Holloway to Simon Pegg and Benedict Cumberbatch.

ANT-MAN is currently pencilled in for 6th November, 2015 release date.
