If I recall rightly we were a little dismissive the last time we reported on this movie, the sequel to the little seen 2008’s 3D showcase JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH, but the switch in tone in this new International trailer has actually got us pretty excited for it.

If like us you weren’t convinced that JOURNEY 2 would be worth a look, this might just do the trick…

Young adventurer Sean receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist–a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter, they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shock waves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND stars Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzman, and Michael Caine. We can all take the trip on February 10th 2012.
