With a sequel already underway for MAN OF STEEL – the rumour is that Ben Affleck might play Batman, you know? – Warner Brothers have revealed that we will be seeing a lot more DC properties brought to life. ComicBook.com have picked up on a recent conference appearance from WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara, in which he addressed this matter.

Tsujihara revealed, “The other places where we think we can have growth is DC Comics. I think the basis, foundation of those 12 to 14 pictures are going to be coming from DC Entertainment. We have BATMAN VS SUPERMAN coming out in 2015, but there are going to be in the coming months a lot of announcements regarding the future movie, television, games and consumer product pieces that are going to be coming from DC. DC really does touch a lot of parts of our business and is an important part of the strategy in how we are going to grow going forward.”

And with that small statement comes a thousand different questions…

It seems a given that we’ll see a big-screen version of the Justice League at some point. If you have the JL, you have to have the likes of Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash and Aquaman. Do these characters get introduced in their own films before a Justice League film? Does a Justice League film get used as a launching pad for certain characters to get their own films? Does Green Lantern get rebooted (yes, please)? Could the WB look to use the fantastic DC animated titles to tie stories together? Could the likes of ARROW and the upcoming Flash TV series be linked into the bigger cinematic picture? And do Tsujihara’s words mean that the MAN OF STEEL sequel is officially titled BATMAN VS SUPERMAN?

If we are to get ’12 to 14’ DC films over the coming years, I’d expect to hear a lot more on these plans over the coming months. As ever, keep your eyes on Starburst for all the latest.
