Despite the lacklustre response to the 2007 Timothy Olyphant headlining HITMAN, Fox are having another crack at bringing the insanely popular videogame series to our screens.

How do they plan to succeed this where director Xavier Gens failed? Well, for starters, don’t ask Xavier Gens back. Next, change the name to AGENT 47 – the masses won’t associate it with the previous bomb, yet hardcore gamers will recognize the brand immediately. Then, cast an actor more teen friendly than the hyper intense, 44-year old Olyphant – step forward Paul Walker, star of the FAST & FURIOUS franchise. Let’s hope he looks as pretty to his fans with nowt on top!

Of course, it’s still far from a sure thing it can work – especially considering that original screenwriter Skip Woods is back and the film will be the feature debut of Aleksander Bach, whose only previous work is in advertisements (and that rarely works out well).

We’ll have more news on the genetically engineered assassin’s next cinematic outing as it develops…
