247ºF follows in the long-running tradition of low budget flicks featuring some poor sods (usually horny teens) stuck in an isolated location and dying one by one. Obviously this has, over the years, progressed from your tried and tested Cabin in the Woods, haunted house formula, forcing filmmakers to think outside the box (OPEN WATER, THE DEVIL and FROZEN spring to mind). And so, in a neat parallel to the latter, comes this, the story of… well, here’s the official synopsis to fill you in:

‘When four friends travel to a lakeside cabin for a carefree weekend, the fun turns into a nightmare when three of them end up locked in a hot sauna. Every minute counts and every degree matters as they fight for their lives in heat that is quickly approaching 247 degrees fahrenheit.’

Can this premise stretch to feature length, or would the situation have been more suited to an inventive death set-piece in the next FINAL DESTINATION flick? We’ll have to wait until the film gets an official release, but in the meantime let’s check out the first trailer…
