Despite the fact Michael Bay very publicly fell out with Megan Fox some years ago (he didn’t take kindly to jokingly being compared to Hitler for some reason), resulting in her being written out from the TRANSFORMERS franchise, the actress has been brought back into the Bay fold for his upcoming NINJA TURTLES reboot.

“TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!” – announced Bay on his site. The director didn’t elaborate on who she’ll be playing, but since there’s only one female character in the Turtle canon, we’re just going to presume she’ll be portraying April O’Neil.

Turtles fans are already furious over the remake, what with the retconned alien origin and the like, so this news is likely to tip them over the edge. But why? The Diablo Cody penned JENIFFER’S BODY proved that Fox is a very capable actresss, it’s just that she’s more often than not required to do little more than pout, point her arse at the camera and wear a bikini. Sometimes all at once.

Bay is only on producing duties here, so the film’s director Jonathan Liebesman (WRATH OF THE TITANS) might not share his boss’s predelicton for objectification and actually let her act for a change. We’ll find out when NINJA TURTLES hits May 16th 2014…
