Following the success of DC property shows ARROW and the upcoming THE FLASH series, news of a SUPERGIRL TV series was tantalising indeed. ARROW’s executive producer, Greg Berlanti has now confirmed that Michael Green’s pitch for a SUPERGIRL show is in development. Cue excitement.

Green himself isn’t actually involved; instead Berlanti is coordinating the show with Ali Adler, creator of NO ORDINARY FAMILY. Geoff Johns, DC’s own chief creative officer, is also said to have a role.

Speaking to Comic Book Resources, Berlanti revealed, ‘We’re just starting to work on it. We haven’t gone to the networks yet, so I’ll be happy, very excited to talk about it once we know where its home will be and that kind of stuff, but not at this moment.

Deadline has announced that the show, ‘will be a new interpretation of the Supergirl character and her story.’ Warner Bros TV and Berlanti Productions are in a pickle concerning the show’s name, wanting to avoid the obvious one, and toying with both Super and Girl.

More details as they develop.
