Horror Channel FrightFest is almost upon us and as usual, there are plenty of great shorts screening this year. Misdirection is one such short worth checking out, and we have the teaser trailer below to whet your appetite.

Misdirection follows Steph (Lucy Cudden), stood-up by her husband in a bar where she encounters the alluring David (Daniel Caltagirone) who disarms her with playful magic tricks. As their flirtation deepens, they begin to reveal their darker sides – and their darker fantasies. The film explores the dangers of desire and deceit.

The film is one of three shorts that comprise the Albion TalesMisdirectionProperty Is Theft, and Health, Wealth & Happiness; which explore unconventional female protagonists in noir, crime and horror themed stories. The Albion Tales has its own overall teaser/trailer. The project stars familiar names from both the genre and mainstream film worlds, including MyAnna Buring (Twilight: Breaking DawnThe Descent), Olivia Poulet (Mad to be NormalIn the Loop), and Alex Hassell (The Miniaturist, and soon to be seen in the Coen Brothers’ penned, George Clooney-directed crime caper Suburbicon).

Another Albion Tales short, Health, Wealth & Happiness, had its World Premiere earlier this month at Fantasia, in Montréal, Canada. The films will continue their festival tours individually around the world for the rest of 2017 before being edited together with additional footage to reveal how their stories intertwine.

Misdirection will screen at 1.20pm on Friday, August 25th at the Prince Charles cinema during Horror Channel FrightFest 2017.
