With the sixth Mission: Impossible movie now finalizing its cast, director Christopher McQuarrie has confirmed that Michelle Monaghan will be returning for the next entry in this fan favourite franchise.

McQuarrie, who has also written the film, took to his Instagram page to reveal that Monaghan will be back as Julia Meade – a character who first appeared as the wife of Ethan Hunt back in Mission: Impossible III and then later in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Monaghan joins a cast that currently includes the likes of Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris and franchise newcomers Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett and Vanessa Kirby.

At present, Mission: Impossible 6 is set for a July 27th, 2018 release.
