Marvel Studios’
Doctor Strange has found itself a new cast member in the form of Michael
Stuhlbarg
.

The
Hollywood Reporter
and Variety
broke the news, with Stuhlbarg, best known for Boardwalk Empire and A
Serious Man
, set to play Doctor Nicodemus West. Doc West is the person who
actually fixes the Sorcerer Supreme’s hands and even goes with him to Kamar-Taj
and undergoes his own magical, mystical training.

Stuhlbarg joins a cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch as
the titular Master of the Mystic Arts, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One,
Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villainous Baron Mordo, and an unknown lead female role
for Rachel McAdams. Hannibal’s Mads
Mikkelsen is also still in talks to join the film in a unspecified bad guy
role.

To be directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange is currently set for a November 4th, 2016 release.
