One of the greatest news stories of this year was when it was revealed that Michael Keaton was in talks to play the villain of Spider-Man: Homecoming. On the flip side, it was a massive kick in the proverbial nuts to hear that those talks broke down and Keaton now had no chance of being a part of the first solo movie for Tom Holland’s Spidey. Now though, it’s being reported that, thankfully, the ever-awesome Michael Keaton is once more back in talks to join Homecoming.

Variety has word that Keaton is now back in negotiations to be a part of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the apparent reason for the initial halt in negotiations was down to Robert Downey Jr. agreeing to be a part of the film. RDJ’s Tony Stark is rumoured to be butting heads with ol’ Webhead in Homecoming and so Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios weren’t show how to move forward on the villain front. Now though, it seems that they’re more than happy to have both Iron Man and Keaton’s rogue cause headaches for the Wallcrawler.

This is added to a new story from JoBlo that claims that, yes, The Vulture will be the main villain of the film and that he’ll also be joined by The Tinkerer in a small role. Supposedly, Tinkerer will assist Vulture in making his suit using Chitauri technology obtained in the aftermath of the Avengers Assemble’s hard-hitting action.

At present, Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for July 7th, 2017 release.
