There’s an undeniable synergy between heavy metal and horror movies. Since a little known pub band wanted to distil the terror of horror flicks into their music and changed their name to BLACK SABBATH (after the Boris Karloff film) metal was born, and continues its fascination with the horrible and ghoulish.

There’s plenty of metal’s finest involved in horror films, most famously Rob zombie, and more recently Slipknot’s own Corey Taylor getting in on the action. Bloody Disgusting have reported, to no great surprise, that Deathhaus Film’s upcoming short MASSACRE stars London May (Samhain), Billy Morrison (Billy Idol, The Cult), Jeordie White (Marilyn Manson, A Perfect Circle), and Rob Patterson (Korn, Filter).

Directed by Erik Boccio of Pussy Riot’s PUTIN LIGHTS UP THE FIRES fame, produced by CEMETARY GATE’s Damian Lea and Pandie Suicide (who appeared in David Lynch’s barmy Crazy Clown Time). The short film follows Marriane James, who wakes up amidst the aftermath of a bloody mass murder, unable to remember what happened. It’s familiar stuff, for sure, but with a cast and crew that interesting, you’d be hard pressed to look passed it.

Due out for later this year, MASSACRE is currently being edited by Greg Daniels, who worked on the third instalment in THE HOBBIT trilogy.
