With Melissa Benoist recently signed on to play the titular character in SUPERGIRL, the CBS show has now found its James Olsen. TRUE BLOOD’s Mehcad Brooks has landed the role.
In the show Olsen will be a photographer at CatCo, the media company that Supergirl’s alter-ego, Kara Danvers, works at. It’s been said that this version of “Jimmy” Olsen will be different to the Jimmy that we’ve seen previously in comic books, live-action and animation, with him even possibly being a love interest for Kara. He’s certainly a lot more chiselled and suave-looking that the red-headed nerd that many have become accustomed to over the years.
Kara Zor-El and Jimmy Olsen are just two of the familiar DC names that will appear in the show, with Hank Henshaw, Winslow Scott, and Cat Grant, who will be the boss at CatCo, some other notable characters.
Expect to hear more on SUPERGIRL as it develops.
