With Transformers 5 now officially known as Transformers: The Last Knight, it appears that the villain of the film has been revealed.

Director Michael Bay posted a brief teaser video to his Instagram page, accompanied by the caption: It’s starting. This week production. Megatron is back. #transformers #decepticons#

Showing what threat lies ahead for Optimus Prime and his Autobots, Bay revealed that, yes, the threat is nefarious franchise mainstay Megatron.

Production is due to start on The Last Knight in Detroit next week, with Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel returning for this next Robots-in-Disguise outing. They’ll be joined by newcomers Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael.

The current plan is for Transformers: The Last Knight to hit screens on June 23rd, 2017. But that’s not the last entry in the franchise, for a Bumblebee solo movie is planned for 2018 before a sixth main Transformers movie for 2019.
