Naoyoshi Shiotani, director of hit sci-fi series Psycho-Pass and its 2014 feature film spin-off, is to be Anime Guest of Honour at this month’s MCM London Comic Con, which takes place at London’s ExCel on October 28th – 30th.

Shiotani is to present an on-stage panel about his work on Psycho-Pass and other titles on the Saturday of the show, as well as signing autographs for fans over the course of the weekend.

He is one of famed anime studio Production I.G’s most promising young creators and first shot to international prominence for helming the kaleidoscopic opening title sequence of 2005 TV series Blood+, before making his award-winning directorial debut with 2007’s Tokyo Marble Chocolate. He also worked as animation director on Production I.G’s first 3DCG animated feature, Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror.

But it’s as the director of the critically-acclaimed Psycho-Pass that Naoyoshi Shiotani is best known to UK fans. Set in a dystopian future Japan where those deemed a threat to society are hunted down before they can commit a crime, the success of Psycho-Pass also led Shiotani to direct Psycho-Pass: The Movie, coming to UK home video on October 31st.
