As promised by Disney Plus’ tweet last night, a brand new trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi has dropped in celebration of May the Fourth.

The first trailer the series released to great fanfare back in March and featured stunning shots of Ewan McGregor’s return as Kenobi, as well as introducing a host of new characters. The series picks up ten years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, when Obi-Wan faced his greatest defeat: the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Since, the Jedi Master has kept watch over young Luke Skywalker while working to evade the newly risen Empire’s elite Jedi hunter taskforce.

The first full-length trailer sees Obi-Wan trying to convince Joel Edgerton’s Owen Lars to let him train Luke (an idea to which he is clearly resistant), as well as continuing to evade the Empire’s grasp – the trailer is complete with great action sequences, better looks at the leading cast (including Rupert Friend’s Inquisitor), and a teasing glimpse at Darth Vader’s (Hayden Christensen) return.

The six-episode series is set to debut May 27 on Disney+, with the first two episodes releasing at once.

Check out the trailer, and happy May the Fourth!
