In some surprising news, it looks as if we could be delving back into the world of Kick-Ass once more.

When speaking to Yahoo Movies, director Matthew Vaughn revealed that we may actually get to see two further Kick-Ass movies, one acting as a Hit Girl and Big Daddy origin story and then another movie that is a straight-up Kick-Ass 3.

Vaughn said that he’s “not done with the franchise”, before then adding, “We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy. If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn’t like Kick-Ass 2 and then we can go off and make Kick-Ass 3. I think we’ve got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with Kick-Ass.”

Fair play to Vaughn for his honesty when it comes to Kick-Ass 2, for that was a movie that massively underwhelmed many it terms of box office figures and in terms of the quality of the film. That said, it did have a lot to live up to in the shape of the first Kick-Ass.

As ever, expect more on all of this as it develops.
