Whilst we were all sad to see the Matt Ryan-starring Constantine axed after just one season, we’ve been able to take some sort of solace in Ryan returning to the role in Arrow and also in the upcoming animated Justice League Dark movie. Now though, it’s been confirmed that Matt Ryan’s John Constantine will be back on a more permanent basis as he headlines his own animated series.

The CW has announced that this animated show will be heading to CW Seed next year, and that Ryan will indeed be back to voice Hellblazer. At present, Constantine has been penciled in for five or six 10-minute episodes. Greg Berlanti will serve as executive producer, and David S. Goyer will also be involved in the show on a writing and producing level.

It may not be a live-action return for Matt Ryan’s John Constantine, but it’s just great to have him back in some fashion, even if it’s just in animated form for now.

Up next for Ryan’s Constantine is an appearance in the aforementioned Justice League Dark animated movie, which is released next month.
