Whilst we knew that Marvel’s Luke Cage was on the way to Netflix at some point later this year, now comes confirmation of just when we can see Power Man’s solo series arrive on the streaming service.

Netflix and Marvel Entertainment have officially revealed that the Mike Colter-starring Marvel’s Luke Cage will hits Netflix on September 30th. Colter’s Cage debuted in last year’s Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and in this series he’ll also be joined by Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dilland, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Shades, and a return from Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. Then there’s a chance that the recently-cast Finn Jones could appear as Danny Rand/Iron Fist.

The official synopsis on the show so far reads:

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

NCIS: Los Angeles’ Cheo Hodari Coker will serve as showrunner and executive producer on Marvel’s Luke Cage, with him also having written the first two episodes.
