Last month brought word that Marvel were looking at several names for the lead role in their Netflix-exclusive JESSICA JONES. Up for the gig were said to be BREAKING BAD’s Krysten Ritter, WARM BODIES’ Teresa Palmer, TRUE DETECTIVE’s Alexandra Daddario and ARROW’s Jessica Da Gouw. Now comes a report from Deadline to say that it’s Krysten Ritter who has landed the gig.

JESSICA JONES will be the second of Marvel’s Netflix shows, debuting after the Charlie Cox-starring DAREDEVIL. The show is said to focus on retired superhero Jessica Jones after she’s decided to hang up her costume and start her own detective agency. DEXTER’s Melissa Rosenberg is executive producer.

Additionally, it’s also believed that HALO: NIGHTFALL’s Mike Colter is the current frontrunner to play Jones’ other-half, Luke Cage, who will appear in seven of JESSICA JONES’ show before he gets his own series.
