Hot on the news that Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle could be getting his own Netflix series, this past weekend has also brought word on the renewal of one of the on-demand service’s existing Marvel shows.

As revealed at the recent TCA event, the Krysten Ritter-starring Jessica Jones has been confirmed for a second season. No timeframe has been announced as to when Season 2 will arrive, but it’s likely that this will be something for next year given how 2016 already has Daredevil’s second season and Luke Cage on the way.

The first season of Jessica Jones, which arrived in the second half of last year, was a massive success, garnering praise from fans and critics alike. With Ritter in the titular role, audiences were taken on an emotional rollercoaster as Jessica was forced to come to terms with the horrors of her past as David Tenant’s Kilgrave caused chaos in Hell’s Kitchen and beyond. It was massively engaging viewing, continuing a dark and deprived world first entered during the Charlie Cox-starring Daredevil at the start of last year. If you’ve not seen Jessica Jones, or Daredevil for that matter, we can’t recommend them enough. Seriously, go and check them out. As in, now.

Expect more on Season 2 of Jessica Jones as it develops.
