Marvel Entertainment has confirmed that they have cast Stick in their Netflix-exclusive DAREDEVIL. Scott Glenn, best known for THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, will play the martial arts instructor and mentor to Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock.

On the news, Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, said, “Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock’s life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero’s journey. There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt’s journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil.”

Stick is a character who was created by the legendary Frank Miller during his time working with The Guardian Devil. Himself also blind, Stick taught Murdock how to hone his senses and to develop a radar of sorts. In terms of live-action appearance, whilst he was absent from the Ben Affleck-starring DAREDEVIL he did appear in 2005’s ELEKTRA, played by Terence Stamp.

As well as Charlie Cox, Scott Glenn joins a cast that includes Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, and an unconfirmed role for Rosario Dawson.

DAREDEVIL will debut exclusively on Netflix next year.
