Hot on the heels of a DC-based comedy show being currently in development, now comes word that ABC is starting work on a comedy series set in the Marvel Universe.

Variety is reporting the news, with the show to be known as Damage Control and to be a half-hour single-camera comedy series. A pilot episode has already been committed to by the network.

The official description of this new series reads:

According to the series description, the Marvel cleaning crew specialises in dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from superhero conflicts. They are the ones who are in charge of returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, help to reschedule a wedding venue after it has been vaporised in a superhero battle or even track down a missing prize African parrot that’s been turned to stone or goo. Sometimes the most important superheroes are the ones behind the scenes – and that’s who Damage Control will follow.

The Daily Show’s Ben Karlin is developing the show, which will be executively produced by David Miner and Jeph Loeb. Obviously ABC and Marvel already work together on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter, not to mention the upcoming Mockingbird and Lance Hunter-focussed Marvel’s Most Wanted.

Expect more on Damage Control as we get it.
