Following the news that Marvel’s favourite foursome are coming to an abrupt halt in the spring of next year, there’s hardly any comfort as Marvel have released their comic book solicitations for January 2015. Given that Jennifer Walters is one of the company’s most revered and respected characters, it’s a shame that the current volume of SHE HULK will end with issue 12.

There hasn’t been an official reason given, and while sales weren’t fantastic, they were certainly better than some of the other titles Marvel has decided to keep on. It’s little surprise that the reception, both fan and critical, has been positive, given the crop of talent involved, including writer Charles Soule. Despite its more independent approach to superhero storytelling, SHE HULK will be sadly absent in the comic stands from January onwards.

Given that Soule has recently wrapped up the DEATH OF WOLVERINE mini-series, with plans to write several epilogues, it could just be a case of the writer prioritising his work load. Soule has announced that he’ll be commenting on the cancellation soon. In whatever case, SHE HULK will certainly be missed. Here’s hoping she gets another solo outing, preferably without a variant cover from Milo Manara.
