People of Earth! Prepare to be under attack! Nothing too sinister this time, though, just from The Man from Planet X!

The classic 1951 sci-fi film is about to be released by Fabulous Films, giving modern audiences a chance to savour the gloriously low-budget alien creature with the rather melancholy face.

The official synopsis is

On the coast of Scotland, where there is enough fog to hide an alien landing, an astronomer discovers that one has actually occurred from a previously unknown planet which is now hurtling towards Earth. When communication with the “Man From Planet X”, fails, it becomes clear that the extraterrestrial scout has definite plans – not for friendship, but for domination, unleashing havoc on the villagers!

The film stars Robert Clarke, Margaret Field, William Schallert, and Raymond Bond and was directed by Edgar G. Ulmer (who also helmed the Boris Karloff/Bela Lugosi classic The Black Cat.

The new DVD hits shelves on October 24th and watch this space for a review!
