Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen is in talks for a mystery villain role in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange, reports Variety.

It’s already known that Chiwetel Ejiofor is on board to play the villainous Baron Mordo in the film, and now it’s expected that Mikkelsen is close to signing on to play somebody aligned with Mordo. As for Mardo himself, this cinematic version of the rogue will actually pull characteristics from several of Strange’s comic book villains… although he’ll start off as a cohort of Stephen Strange’s and someone else under the guidance of Tilda Swinton’s Ancient One. The Sorcerer Supreme himself, of course, is being played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.

To be directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange is currently set for a November 4th, 2016 release.
