Throughout Supergirl’s first season, the then-CBS show made a point of often bringing in certain DC alumni (Dean Cain, Helen Slater, etc) for roles in the Melissa Benoist-starrer. Even though the series has now moved to The CW, it looks as if that trend is to continue as the show has now confirmed Lynda Carter to be a part of the upcoming second season.

The CW revealed that former Wonder Woman star Carter will be playing the recurring part of the US President when Supergirl returns later this year. The actress will make her debut in the third episode of this new season, with her already confirmed for multiple episodes.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Carter joining Supergirl, for producer Greg Berlanti previously talked about how the show had tried to get the former Diana Prince involved but to no avail. Well it appears that Berlanti has now got his (Wonder) woman.

Supergirl returns to US screens on October 10th, with a UK return hopefully following shortly after that.
