Many had high hopes for 2014’s Dracula Untold, starring Luke Evans, but the film ultimately turned out to be a bit of a letdown. As such, it was presumed that Evans’ time as Drac was a one-and-done affair. That may not be the case, though…

The plan from Universal was to have Dracula Untold be the film to launch their new shared monster universe, with new takes planned for the likes of The Mummy, Invisible Man, Creature From the Black Lagoon, and Wolf Man. Whilst those films are still moving ahead, it looks as if we could also see Evans return as Dracula at some point, too.

Speaking to LRM about a return or even a team-up with other monsters, the actor revealed, “There have been talks and conversations. I think the bigger picture is exciting for all the monsters that they own. There is talk about it. I just don’t know how it will all manifest itself. I think it will happen and I think they’re just working out how these monsters interact and how they end up in the same realm with each other. If they can stick Captain America in a scene with Iron Man and Thor, I think you can definitely put Wolf Man, The Mummy and Dracula in the same film as well.”

At present, Universal has Tom Cruise headlining The Mummy, currently shooting ahead of a June 2017 release, whilst Johnny Depp is on board to star in The Invisible Man. Russell Crowe is also signed on for a mystery role – one that will see him debut in The Mummy – that’s believed to be Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. Elsewhere, the studio wants Angelina Jolie to direct and star in Bride of Frankenstein, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is sought for The Wolf Man, Scarlett Johansson is wanted as the damsel in distress for The Creature From the Black Lagoon, and Javier Bardem is being looked at to play Frankenstein’s monster.
