Fresh off the news yesterday that the show had cast the villainous Shades, today brings word that Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive Luke Cage has found its Misty Knight.

Deadline is reporting that the relatively-unknown Simone Missick has been cast as a character called Missy, but who it has been confirmed is the show’s take on Misty Knight. The comic book Misty made her debut back in 1975’s Marvel Premiere #21, created by Tony Isabella and Arvell Jones. Initially depicted as an NYPD cop, a bomb explosion would leave her without one of her arms. Ever the helpful sort, Tony Stark stepped in to construct a bionic arm for Misty. Since then, she’s largely worked alongside Luke Cage and Iron First, even becoming a love interest for the latter.

To debut next year, Luke Cage sees Mike Colter in the titular role (he’ll actually make his debut in the Krysten Ritter-starring Jessica Jones), Theo Rossi as Shades, and Alfre Woodard as Black Mariah. Also confirmed to appear is Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, last seen in the brilliant Daredevil.
