Nothing Lasts Forever

Name a sci-fi tinged comedy from the eighties starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd that isn’t GHOSTBUSTERS. Stumped?

NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, released in 1984, was directed by Tom Schiller, of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE fame, and starred the two comedy actors. We’ll forgive you not knowing, as it was shelved by MGM for three decades and never given a video release after all.

According to the Telegraph: ‘The cast and crew often put on screenings of the film, usually at Murray’s insistence; now the whole thing has resurfaced online. The film has been available on YouTube for 3 years but is only now being rediscovered. It’s a spectacularly odd film, as one might expect from that era of Murray films, featuring musical numbers, jumps into colour, and clips from old movies thrown in for good measure.

Rest assured, the film is pretty wacky. Starring alongside Murray and Aykroyd is Zach Galligan (GREMLINS) in an alternate-reality Manhattan. After thirty years, you don’t want to miss out now, do you?
