The beautiful talented actress and singing star of Peter Gunn as Gunn’s girlfriend, the stylish, sultry, smoky-voiced torch singer, Edie Hart and the classic sci-fi film The Monolith Monsters has left us at the age of 92.

Born Lola Jean Albright in Akron, Ohio on July 20th, 1924. Miss Albright inherited her singing talent from her parents who were gospel singers.

Miss Albright was a model and receptionist for radio station WAKR. She was an advent piano player where she studied the art for 20 years.

She left Akron and went to Hollywood where her early roles were at MGM in the Gene Kelly film The Pirate and Easter Parade with Judy Garland. Her breakout role though was in the Kirk Douglas boxing film Champion.

After honing her acting craft on a series of television shows, she was chosen to play Cathy Barrett in The Monolith Monsters, which also starred Grant Williams.

In 1959, she caught the attention of writer/director/producer Blake Edwards, who thought she was perfect for Edie Hart in the Peter Gunn television series that lasted three years and inspired Miss Albright to produce two albums Lola Wants You and Dreamsville.

Other appearances were in Lord Love A Duck, How I Spent My Summer Vacation as well as Bonanza, Racket Squad, Burke’s Law, Police Story, The Incredible Hulk, Airwolf and many more.

Miss Albright was charming in person as she was on screen and a class act who will be missed.
