With things starting to move along nicely on AMC’s WALKING DEAD companion series, currently known as COBALT, now comes some confirmation on just where this new show will be set.

TVLine is reporting that COBALT will be set in Los Angeles, putting it firmly away from the Atlanta-based action of the main WALKING DEAD series. It was previously suggested that the companion series would take place in a different locale to the main series, and this confirms that. It was also suggested that this new series could actually take place at a different point in time to the main show, although that’s still to be confirmed.

It’s already been confirmed that Cliff Curtis will be leading the action in this new series, much like how Andrew Lincoln does in the main show. Curtis will be joined by Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey.

At present, COBALT is looking to shoot its pilot episode, to be directed by Adam Davidson, early next year.
