Following last week’s addition of Jing Tian, Pacific Rim: Maelstrom has also brought in Levi Meaden.

Variety is reporting that the actor, likely best known to genre fans for his appearances in the likes of The 100, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, iZombie and Aftermath, will be playing a character called Ilya in the Pacific Rim sequel. That role is described as “irreverent and offbeat”, so expect Meaden to bring some humour to proceedings.

Meaden joins a cast that currently includes John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, and the aforementioned Jing Tian.

To be directed by Steven S. DeKnight, Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is currently set for a February 23rd, 2018 release.
