Adam Nimoy, son of the late, great Leonard, has announced that he’ll be making a documentary dedicated to his father.

Variety has announced that the documentary, titled FOR THE LOVE OF SPOCK, will focus on Spock’s alluring nature and Nimoy’s seminal performance. The project, which will coincide with STAR TREK’s 50th anniversary, will be narrated by Zachary Quinto, who portrayed the half-Vulcan in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 reboot and its lesser follow-up.

Speaking to the outlet, Nimoy revealed, “This will be a tribute to my dad and Spock. We have plenty to work from because my dad loved telling stories and he was very fond of the role.”

Having discussed the project with his dad months before his passing (and even two days before), it’s already a poignant send off to sci-fi’s faithful poster boy. With William Shatner himself believed to make an appearance in the documentary, we’re all very much looking forward to the finished product.
