With comic book adaptations everywhere you turn these days, we’ve now got word that AfterShock’s Animosity is being adapted for the big screen.

Legendary has nabbed the rights to Marguerite Bennett and Rafael de Latorre’s comic-book tale, with Legendary’s Jon Silk developing the project with AfterShock’s Jon and Lee Kramer.

The official blurb on the unique premise of Animosity reads:

One day the world is plunged into chaos when animals suddenly wake up. They start thinking. They start talking. The start taking revenge.

In the midst of the turmoil is Jesse, an 11-year-old girl, and her devoted dog, Sandor. One year after the incident, Jesse and Sandor begin a cross-country journey from New York to San Francisco, to find the only person who might be able to protect and save them.

Expect a whole lot more on the Animosity movie as we get it.
