THE LEAGUE OF GENTLEMAN remains a touchstone for black comedy. The show deftly combined the sketch format with the sitcom in an anarchic mix populated with wonderfully grotesque characters. While the show’s four writers—Mark Gatiss (SHERLOCK, DOCTOR WHO), Jeremy Dyson and Steve Pemberton & Reece Shearsmith (who wrote the equally twisted PSYCHOVILLE together)—haven’t appeared on our screens under the LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN umbrella since the disappointing feature film in 2005. It looks as though a reunion may be in the works.

Speaking to Radio Times, Shearsmith revealed they four writers were in talks over a reunion. ‘I think we will do something again. We’ve started to talk about a thing. It might not be Royston Vasey, but just collaborating again would be great.
