Indy comics’ icon Lady Death won’t be to everybody’s taste, indeed in her, ahem, skimpy outfit she might seem like a relic to modern audiences. That said, she’s certainly a part of its history and won’t be fading out any time soon. With another Kickstarter feel-good story in motion, LADY DEATH: APOCALYPSE #1 is currently looking for fan funding.

Not only is the character herself returning, but also the Boundless imprint at Avatar. Asking only $6,500, and with plenty of tantalising pledge perks, Lady Death will return to the land of the living. The comic is expected to be released in February 2015, suggesting that the publisher already has plenty of tools and sources at their disposal.

LADY DEATH: APOCALYPSE #1 will be penned by Mike Wolfer, with painted artwork from Marc Borstel alongside previous cover artists previously featured on Boundless books including Matt Martin, Juan Jose Ryp, Renato Camilo, Michael DiPascale and Richard Ortiz, among others.

The campaign has described the first issue as below:

“Much has changed during Lady Death’s absence from the Under Realm, most notably the near-extinction of the warrior class Demons. What devastating effects the demon annihilation will have on the Under Realm remains to be seen, but Hope cannot stand-by idly as a convoy of enslaved demons rolls through the night toward its captives’ oblivion. As her plans of rising to power depend on the loyal foot-soldiers she abandoned, now she must rescue them at all cost. The biggest Lady Death epic to date kicks off here!”

The campaign closes on December 5th and has currently raised over $2,000. To pledge your support, visit Kickstarter.
