We here at Moonbase Alpha absolutely adored Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service when it hit UK cinemas earlier this year. With a sequel swiftly announced, we’ve now got details on a release date for the follow-up.

It’s been revealed by 20th Century Fox that the Kingsman sequel will make its way to the big screen on June 16th, 2017. How the story of the film will play out is unknown at this stage, although it’s presumed that Taron Egerton will be returning to star. Whilst Kingsman: The Secret Service was based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ Secret Service graphic novel, there’s no source material to pull from as of yet for this follow-up. Matthew Vaughn is believed to have already begun work on a script for Kingsman 2, and there’s talks that he could also end up directing.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops… and if you’ve not checked out Kingsman yet for yourself, we can’t recommend it enough.
