Though most fans will have already gathered that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin would be starring in the Marvel Hawkeye spinoff series Echo, it’s now official!

Fisk is the guardian of superhero Echo, aka Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox) – though the Hawkeye finale sees her go after Fisk upon learning he was the one who killed her biological father. Though the episode leaves Kingpin’s fate ambiguous, it sounds like the big guy isn’t dead yet.

As for Daredevil, we last saw Cox’s Murdock in a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, providing legal counsel to Peter Parker after his identity is revealed as that of Spider-Man. Daredevil and Kingpin faced off in Daredevil‘s first and third seasons, so their dynamic is already well-established. The fourth season of Daredevil is presently in development.

In the Echo series, Maya returns to New York as a gang leader and “must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.” Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning and Graham Greene also star in the series, with Marion Dayre serving as head writer.
