Following last week’s departure of director Rick Famuyiwa, now it looks as if there could be some further problems for Warner Brothers’ The Flash.

Whilst she’s still on board of the Ezra Miller-starrer, it appears that Kiersey Clemons is unhappy at recent developments. The actress, who will be playing Iris West in the film, had previously worked with Famuyiwa on Dope, and on his departure from The Flash, Clemons told The Hollywood Reporter, “Rick was one of the main reasons I wanted to do the movie. So him not being a part of it is obviously very upsetting to me.”

Given the fact that The Flash has now seen two directors leave over creative differences – Famuyiwa was brought in to replace the departed Seth Grahame-Smith back in April – the film has certainly got few people worried. If it were to lose one of its few confirmed cast members then that would be only a further kick in the proverbial nuts for The Flash and for Warners’ DC Extended Universe as a whole. Hopefully that won’t be the case, though.

At present, The Flash has Ezra Miller on board as the titular Scarlet Speedster, Kiersey Clemons as love interest Iris West, Billy Crudup as Barry Allen’s father, Dr. Henry Allen, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg will also have a part to play. The previous plan was to start production next spring ahead of an early 2018 release for the film, although finding a new director could obviously lead to some delays on that front.
