The Kickstarter campaign for the second issue of post-apocalyptic action comic Bust is well underway. Subtitled Wasteland Ronin, it continues the story of casino dealer turned hardened warrior Jack as he travels into the desolate, mutant-populated wilderness that the United States has now descended into.

Given the quality of the first issue (our review of it can be read here) and its success, we can assume even bigger and better things from the follow-up. Its official synopsis reads:

After surviving his run-in with Eddie Scott and the horrifying ordeals he suffered within the city of Austin, Jack wanders the wasteland in search of repentance. America is burned to the ground, replaced instead with a new state of brutality known as the ‘Free South.’

Crippled by guilt and anguish, Jack’s mind starts to splinter as a new threat emerges – a notorious gang called The Smilers – which is systematically tearing what remains of the old world apart to fulfil their own sick agenda. The old hustler Jack takes sword in hand once more and searches the wastes for answers in a new quest to take out the guy at the top.

But who is the mysterious leader of The Smilers and why does he have it in for Jack?

New heroes emerge, old wounds re-open and blood is spilled in Bust 2: Wasteland Ronin, the 35-page road epic that is a must-read for fans of the original.
