We were told that more speedsters were coming…

After much teasing, The Flash has found its Wally West! Divergent’s Keiynan Lonsdale has been cast as Wally ahead of the show’s second season.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Wally West made his DC comic book debut back in 1960’s The Flash #10. The nephew of Iris West, Wally initially became Kid Flash after an accident that was just a tad similar to the one that happened to Barry Allen. As time progressed, Wally would actually go on to become The Flash himself.

On this casting news, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, “Just like when we met Grant for the first time, we instantly knew that Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”

After the Season 1 finale, the notion of the Multiverse is now in play, and we’ve already seen Teddy Sears cast as Jay Garrick, the very first Flash and somebody who we saw teased at the end of the first season of the show. Now we’ve got another potential Flash to bring into the mix.

The Flash returns to US screens on October 6th, with a UK return expected to follow shortly after.
