Remember how March brought word of a Jacob’s Ladder remake? We know, we’re still not sure on it either. Regardless, the redo has brought in a new face in the form of Karla Souza.

Deadline reports that the How to Get Away With Murder actress has joined the film in the role of “Annie/Angel, a trauma nurse who works with Jacob’s medical crew in Afghanistan.” Souza joins a cast that currently features Michael Ealy and Guy Burnet.

This new take on Jacob’s Ladder is being described as “a modern-day paranoid action thriller about two brothers.” The 1990 original movie starred Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Pena and Danny Aiello, with the plot focussing on a Vietnam vet who’s haunted by trippy hallucinations and flashbacks from his time before and during the war.
