As the cinematic DC realm looks to get expanded with March’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Brothers Animation has revealed that they are developing a new animated take on the Justice League for Cartoon Network.

Officially known as Justice League Action, the new series will be made up of short, action-filled episodes. What’s likely most appealing to long-time fans of animated DC efforts is the fact that Kevin Conroy will be back as the voice of the Dark Knight himself, Batman. Having voiced the Caped Crusader for the iconic Batman: The Animated Series and many an effort since then, Conroy is, to many, the voice they hear when thinking of the World’s Greatest Detective or reading a Bat book.

The show is officially described as:

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman lead the DC Comics superheroes against their most infamous foes in adventures packed with relentless thrills, fun and action. No need to wait for the good stuff to start, each eleven-minute episode jumps in with lightning-paced action and heroics. Whether defending the Earth, facing invaders from space, or battling the bizarre forces of magic, the always-rotating team of Justice League heroes are up to any challenge.

As well as Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, also confirmed for the show are Mark Hamill as The Joker, James Wood as Lex Luthor, and Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold. Familiar DC animated names Alan Burnett, Sam Register, Butch Lukic and Jim Krieg are on board in producing capacities.
