Last week brought news that The Flash and Supergirl will be having a two-episode musical crossover later this year, and now comes some new details on these sing-a-long superhero shenanigans.

According to That Hashtag Show, it’s a done deal that Joss Whedon will actually be directing this two-part adventure. Now, The CW has yet to release any official comment on this, but the source certainly has previous as they were the first to reveal that Finn Jones would be headlining Marvel’s Iron Fist.

Given that Whedon knows how to handles superheroes better than most, plus the fact that he directed Buffy’s musical episode and was involved with the first season of Glee, he does seem like the perfect fit for such a unique two-episode tale.

As for the logic behind having an all-singing crossover between the Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster and Melissa Benoist’s Maid of Might, the same source is claiming that Music Meister will be the villain of the arc and the reason for all of the singing and dancing.

Like we said, this isn’t official as of yet, but it sure does seem like a logical choice and would be a pretty perfect ‘get’ for The CW.

The Flash premieres its third season on October 4th, with Supergirl’s second season arriving on October 10th.
