DC’s Legends of Tomorrow debuts in the US next week, and the show is already confirmed to feature plenty of familiar DC characters. Well, today brings word that Jonah Hex is another character who we can expect to appear in the time-travelling series.

The CW has revealed that Hex will pop up during an episode of the show set in the Old West. Nobody has been cast in the role as of yet, but expect more news on that as it develops. On the addition, executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Variety, “Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”

For those not familiar with Jonah Hex, he’s basically a pissed off, scarred bounty hunter who pulls no punches. The character debuted way back in 1972’s All-Star Western #10 before ending up with his own series. The character has also appeared in live-action previously, with Josh Brolin taking the titular role in the 2010 Jonah Hex movie, although Legends of Tomorrow will be the first time that Hex has appeared in a live-action TV show.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow debuts in the US on January 21st, with Jonah Hex to appear in the eleventh episode. The show will air on a TBC February date on Sky1 in the UK.
