The first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 has just landed – hot on the heels of various casting announcements for the franchise’s spinoff feature, Ballerina – and looks to gleefully uphold the series’ “bigger is better” policy. Therefore, expect more cars skidding in slo-mo, more bullets ricocheting off katanas, more designer suits that stay impeccably clean, and more horses galloping away from heavy fire.

“A new day is dawning,” the Marquis de Gramont says in the two-and-a-half-minute preview. “New ideas, new rules, new management.” In this fourth instalment, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.

Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, singer Rina Sawayama in her big-screen debut, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane also star in the action flick from Chad Stahelski, who directs from a script by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch.

As Winston tells Wick in the trailer, “Just have fun out there.” It sure looks like we will.
