Now it’s only just starting to move forward, but this is something that has us mightily excited.

It’s been revealed that The CW is developing a new TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE show, with a pilot having been ordered. This latest take on the classic property has been talked about since 2013, but now a pilot has been greenlit and there’s even a writer on board. Not just any writer but Joe Hill.

Whereas some people first came across Hill for the fact that he’s Stephen King’s son (even making an appearance in the brilliant CREEPSHOW), his work itself is mightily impressive, having penned HORNS and LOCKE & KEY.

The original TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE ran for four seasons between 1983 and 1988 and is one of the great episodic horror anthology shows that many fans remember fondly, along with the likes of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, TALES FROM THE CRYPT and THE OUTER LIMITS.

This new take will also see Joe Hill serve as a producer, with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Heather Kadin, Mitch Galin and Jerry Golod also producing. No director has been announced for the pilot at this stage.

Expect more on this as it develops.
