Deadline is reporting that J.K. Simmons has signed on to appear in Legendary Pictures upcoming King Kong movie, recently titled KONG: SKULL ISLAND. Simmons is best known to most genre fans for his brilliant portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s SPIDER-MAN trilogy.

Simmons role in KONG: SKULL ISLAND is unknown at this stage, although he joins Tom Hiddleston in being signed on to the film. Plot-wise, the action will centre on the island home of Kong and look to establish the foundations of the classic Kong tale that we’ve become accustomed to over the decades.

To be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, KONG: SKULL ISLAND will be released on March 10th, 2017.
